形態特徵

Medium-sized evergreen trees with grayish-brown bark.
Leaves somewhat coriaceous, oblong to long-obovate, 9–14 cm long, 2.8–4.5 cm broad, often variable in size, abruptly acute or acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, serrate near apex along margins, midrib somewhat flat above, prominent below, lateral veins 7–9 pairs; petioles 1.4–2 cm long.
Staminate flowers 5.4 mm long, 2.2 mm broad; perianth 5–6-lobed, densely puberulent outside, somewhat hairy inside; stamens 10–12, filaments 3.5 mm long, anthers 0.3 mm long.
Cupules with numerous triangular scales, 1.5–2 cm long, 3–3.5 cm across;nuts obconic or conic, 2.1–2.3 cm long, 2.8–3 cm broad.

物候

Staminate flowers blooming from May to August; fruits maturing from September to April.

分布

台灣 : in forests at 700–1100 m altitude in the central, southern and eastern parts.
世界 : Distributed in S China and NE Vietnam.
